- POM (Polyoxymethylene), also known as Acetal or Delrin, is a high-stiffness, low-friction engineering thermoplastic often produced in white for visual inspection and hygiene-sensitive applications. Known for its excellent dimensional stability, wear resistance, and mechanical strength, POM is ideal for precision components such as gears, bearings, and bushings. It maintains performance in a moderate temperature range and resists many oils, fuels, and solvents. However, it has limited resistance to strong acids and hot water. POM White is commonly used in automotive, consumer products, industrial machinery, and food-handling equipment (in food-safe grades).
